Sea Turtles Making The News
| Allison The Turtle Lady Legacy is particularly fond of a very special sea turtle named Allison who was rescued in 2005 after a vicious shark attack. Representing the Atlantic Green species, she has only one flipper yet this spunky survivor swims around in her tank at Sea Turtle Inc. where she will live for the rest of her life since she cannot be returned to the sea given her condition. |

On April 8, 2009, Allison demonstrated how a custom-made neoprene jacket featuring a stabilizing rudder of carbon fiber now helps her to swim and dive. When Allison made history as the first sea turtle to swim and dive easily wearing this one-of-a-kind suit to compensate for her disability, The Turtle Lady Legacy was there to cheer her on. Mary Ann Tous and Patti Pitcock both watched Allison with admiration as a crowd of reporters and photographers documented the momentous event. | |
